Logic's "Dadbod" Music Video Revels in Mundane Family Life
The ‘No Pressure’ standout accompanies home movie footage.
Logic‘s No Pressure is a culmination of over a decade in the rap game, the rapper’s final studio album before calling it quits to take in life as a husband, father and well-paid Twitch streamer. The album’s first music video, “Dadbod,” cements that victory lap mentality, showcasing the 30-year-old at home amidst his wife, baby and boxes of stuff as the family prepares to move to Montana.
“Make a couple platinum records in that b*tch and then I dip up out it,” Logic reflects in the chorus, before lovingly referencing his wife, Brittney, and child, Bobby. This sets the tone for the lyrics and music video, which wholly celebrates Logic’s devotion to his family — ensuing bars riff on doing diapers, blissful ignorance of emerging rappers and grocery shopping. “Is this want you wanted, everyday life material?” Logic asks after recounting a trip to Target. “I’m not a kid anymore and be sure sh*t’s boring / Made it out the basement, now my bank account soaring.”
