According to the synopsis, Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself who becomes fed up of always being a comedic sidekick. When he finally gets offered a role to be a leading man in an action movie by a famous director, he jumps at the opportunity, but there’s one condition: “Kevin must first train at the world’s greatest action star school, run by a lunatic (Travolta).” The series will follow Hart as he journeys through this experience, being “pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student.”
Hart and Travolta will star alongside Leon: The Professional‘s Jean Reno, and Black Hawk Down‘s Josh Hartnett. The show’s creators are Stuber‘s Tripper Clancy and John Wick‘s Derek Kolstad, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Eric Appel directing.
Die Hart will arrive on Quibi July 20.
