Apple Original Films has officially unveiled the debut trailer for Matchbox The Movie. Directed by Sam Hargrave and starring John Cena, the high-octane action feature brings Mattel’s iconic die-cast toy brand to life as a globe-trotting spy adventure.
Scripted by David Coggeshall, the narrative centers on a group of lifelong childhood friends whose routines are upended when long-absent former leader Sean (Cena)—now operating as an undercover CIA agent—returns to their small town. The reunion quickly spirals into a frantic international pursuit as Sean unwittingly embroils his old friends in a high-stakes mission to save the world.
Produced in collaboration with Skydance Media and Mattel Films, the ensemble cast features Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris, Danai Gurira, Golshifteh Farahani, Corey Stoll, and Bill Camp.
