Summary
- Acne Studios celebrates one year of its Aoyama flagship with another Apollinaria Broche collaboration
- The moment includes a rooftop and in-store installation of new ceramic characters by the French-Russian artist, alongside a three-piece tee capsule
Acne Studios’ Aoyama flagship is ringing in one year with sweetness, courtesy of Apollinaria Broche. As the Swedish fashion house celebrates its Tokyo flagship’s first birthday, it’s reuniting with the French-Russian artist for an adorable full-store takeover of installations and wearables.
A rooftop installation of nine whimsical large-scale works anchors the occasion. Each piece, reminiscent of antique figurines, introduces a new darling character; there’s Suisui the three-legged horse; Emru the sleepy white bunny; Daisy cat, “dreaming she is one with the flowers”; and a baby deer named Bimbi, charmingly risen on its hind legs.
A series of miniaturized ceramic companions is also sprinkled throughout the store, softening the sleek interior with moments of wonder and surprise. The House brings out an even sweeter side of the artist, also known for her surreal, sinuous flower sculptures.
This isn’t the first time the artist has brought her nostalgic creations to Acne. The new cast of characters evokes Broche’s first go-around with the brand, a wondrous collection of ceramics and accessories for its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, and another adorable Lunar New Year collaboration in 2023, all centered around the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Bun Bun for the year of the rabbit.
The anniversary installation also arrives with an equally whimsical three-piece tee capsule, available exclusively at the Aoyama outpost, comprising fitted short sleeves and a crewneck featuring Bimbi, Suisui, and a hedgehog character.
