Saturdays NYC has put its own spin on a classic with a customized take on Lacoste’s L.12.12 polo shirt. The New York lifestyle label rebuilds the enduring tennis staple through its own lens, applying a distinctive finishing process and understated branding to turn one of menswear’s most recognizable silhouettes into a limited collaborative piece.
The core of the project is a special-order reconstruction of the L.12.12 body. Saturdays NYC starts from Lacoste’s definitive polo and customizes the shirt with a proprietary wash-and-fade treatment, engineering a lived-in texture that reads as though the piece has been worn for years despite being brand new. The result gives the crisp, upright polish of French sportswear a more relaxed, broken-in character in line with the label’s downtown sensibility.
The branding is where the two identities meet. On the left chest, the collaboration places “S.N.Y.C” lettering directly beneath Lacoste’s familiar crocodile patch, a quiet co-sign that keeps the original emblem intact while staking Saturdays NYC’s claim. The left sleeve carries the brand’s signature slash icon, a small but deliberate accent that adds presence without overwhelming the polo’s clean lines. Together, the touches keep the customization subtle rather than loud, letting the wash treatment do most of the talking.
The range rounds out with options for how it wears. The polo comes in six colorways spanning White, Black, Navy, Green, Wine and Dark Brown, covering both neutral staples and richer, moodier tones. Sizing runs from S through XL, and the fade finish means each color carries the treatment differently, giving the lineup variation across the run.
