Mazda Marks 100th Anniversary With Special-Edition MX-5 Miata
The world’s best-selling sports car appears with a celebratory makeover.
Mazda is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a limited-edition release of the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, the MX-5 Miata.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata 100th Anniversary Special Edition is based upon the 2020 MX-5 Grand Touring. It is available in Retractable Fastback (RF) and Soft Top form, and is equipped with a four-cylinder Skyactiv-G two-liter engine that’s good for 181 HP and 151 lb-ft. of torque.
What makes the 100th anniversary model unique is how the car is finished. It will be painted in “Snowflake White Pearl Mica,” and will come with an exclusive red roof for the convertible as well as red styling accents throughout. For example, the front fender wears a “100 Years 1920 — 2020” badge, while the center lock caps on the wheels have been painted with the red and black celebratory logo. Black has also been used to highlight the RF’s roof instead of red.
Inside, you’ll find red leather seats and red carpets that are both finished with more anniversary logos and stamps. Rounding out the list of special upgrades is the new key fob that is embossed with the 100th Anniversary Special Logo and presented in a special edition box.
Prices for the Mazda MX-5 Miata 100th Anniversary Special Edition start at $32,670 USD for the soft top, and start from $35,425 USD for the RF. The celebratory Miata will release in the U.S. later this year at Mazda dealerships.
