rájn,ATELIER's SS20 Collection Introduces Video Game Characters
Titled “START.”
Fledgling Seoul-based label rájn,ATELIER has now delivered a display of its latest Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Titled “START,” the seasonal range is centered around the concept of video game characters. The SS20 collection also looks to express rájn,ATELIER’s theme of intentionally or accidentally showcasing the relationship between art and forms found in nature.
Introducing the characters NO1 SOLENOGLYPH, SHIN ALEXANDRITE and EN FRUITAIL768-20, rájn,ATELIER established its evergrowing design aesthetic dominated by dynamic patterns, alternative details and striking tones. Creating a series of character outfits, South Korean label put together expressions of sportswear styles, remade Levi’s denim and its take on traditional menswear staples. Building on existing washes, the jeans remake classic Levi’s with additional panels that create a two-tone effect, while crinkled effects that provide a stacking effect to simplistic items. Rounding up the SS20 collection is a range of headwear options that play on hat and beanie shapes to form obscuring masks tied to the characters introduced.
