Two New 'Kingdom Hearts' Games to Arrive This Year
One mobile and one console game.
While Kingdom Hearts fans are still waiting for the rumored television series to hit Disney+, the franchise from Square Enix is pushing forward with more new content scheduled to release later this year.
On the mobile front, aside from releasing an expansion for the current Kingdom Hearts: Union X which brings Disney‘s Maleficent to the game, Square Enix is also lining up a fully new title named Kingdom Hearts: Union Dark Road. The game seems to take place immediately after the events of Union X, but prior to the rest of the games in the franchise. Union Dark Road is scheduled for release June 22 on Android and Apple iOS, as well as Amazon devices.
Aside from mobile games, Square Enix is also making a full-blown console title named Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. As the name suggests, it will be a rhythm game that first appears lighthearted, but later on takes a darker turn. Kairi, one of the original characters from the franchise, will play as the main character, and the game is set to launch sometime in 2020 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
In other gaming news, Nintendo Switch has released a new free title promoting exercise named Jump Rope Challenge.
