Situated next to the Finnish Olympic Stadium and a statue of the nation’s legendary runner Paavo Nurmi, Töölönlahti also plays host to the Kaisaniemen Run, one of Finland’s most famous meetings. It’s renowned as one of the oldest races in the country, and former champion Finnish runners — and Boston Marathon winners — Paavo Kotila and Eino Oksanen have both reigned victorious in Töölönlahti.
Using this area as inspiration, the Karhu “Marathon” Pack 2 consists of a Fusion 2.0 and two Aria 95s in sporty color-blocked options, while the white and off-white leather parts used on all three of the shoes have been inspired by the white aesthetics of the Alvar Aalto-designed Finlandia Hall.
The wooden training route is a direct link to the suede overlays on the Fusion 2.0, and the brightly-colored suede panels of both Aria 95 models are a link to the late 80s and early 90s colours used in running sneakers.
The “Marathon” Pack Part 2 is available now from the official Karhu web store, retailing from $130 USD.
