DaBaby Releases Black Lives Matter Remix to "ROCKSTAR" Featuring Roddy Ricch
Following behind the track’s debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
DaBaby‘s “ROCKSTAR” featuring Roddy Ricch charted to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week, landing his first such feat, and now the rapper has taken that momentum into a fiery new Black Lives Matter remix.
The introspective track was produced by Seth In The Kitchen and sees DaBaby take the floor to detail some of his own defining experiences as a Black man. DaBaby touches on how the media pushes “negative narratives,” times when he’s been pulled over so the cops could “embarrass” him and “abuse power,” and more, building up to his usual spitfire tempo over the bass.
“ROCKSTAR” originally hails from DaBaby’s second album, Blame It on Baby, which released in April. The project subsequently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, overthrowing The Weeknd‘s then-longstanding album After Hours.
Elsewhere in music, Lil Baby recently released “The Bigger Picture” in Response to the Black Lives Matter movement.
