Guapdad 4000 Recruits Denzel Curry for "Lil Scammer That Could"
Accompanied by bass-heavy, pulsing production.
Following his “Trade Places With Them Jeans” video, Guapdad 4000 has rejoined his frequent producer James Delgado for the throbbing “Lil Scammer That Could.” Complete with a fierce Denzel Curry verse, the track is a paean to success and the endless grind.
Positing himself as the eponymous “Lil Scammer That Could,” Guapdad delivers a series of lively self-aware lines (“I flexed on them / rub it in like ointment,” “My ego enormous”) in between a suitably forward-looking hook: “Money talk, so you not speakin’ bands / Take over the world, ’cause I think I can.” A wandering piano line wavers throughout the production, anchored by stuttering hi-hats and a thick triplet of bass hits, occasionally pitched up to shift the tone.
Two-thirds of the way through the song, Curry delivers a standout feature, switching flows as he touches on future goals (“F*uck diamonds and pearls / I want all the coal and all the clams”) and nods to Mac Dre.
