Blancpain Upgrades Its Fifty Fathoms With Bespoke Titanium Bracelet
Utilizing a patented pin system to maintain a sleek profile.
Little will question the iconic status of Blancpain‘s Fifty Fathoms luxury diving watch, but the brand has made a point not to be content with the status quo, constantly striving for innovation for a model that predates both the Rolex Submariner and Omega Seamaster.
For its latest offering, the brand has turned away from the watch itself and shifted its focus onto its bracelet. With no interest in conventional materials, the Swiss watchmaker has now incorporated the use of titanium, building the entire bracelet from this lightweight metal. Each link of the bracelet is hand-finished and satin-brushed for a luxurious look, but the most impressive part is the way the links are held together: Blancpain uses its own patented system which pairs transverse pins with screws that are placed on the back side of the links, creating a seamless, uninterrupted silhouette along the side surfaces of the bracelet.
The new titanium bracelet will be available for both the Fifty Fathoms Automatique and Grande Date, although the brand has not shared any pricing information on the new upgrade.
Elsewhere in watches, Luminox has expanded on its Sea Series with the new Pacific Diver.
