'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Next Update Will Let Players Swim
It will also introduce several new encounters and DIY recipes.
Nintendo released a new trailer for an upcoming summer update coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The new update will arrive on July 3 and will give players the ability to swim and dive underwater. The update will also bring several new pieces of furniture to change homes into aquatic grottos.
The footage above showcases players diving for treasure and talking with other villagers swimming out in the water. “Keep your eyes peeled for any prospective additions to the museum, and make sure to listen for fun facts from Blathers when you donate your new discoveries,” according to a press release.
Another Animal Crossing character, Pascal, will make his New Horizons debut in this update. The red sea otter philosopher is in need of scallops and will trade any you new mermaid-themed DIY recipes for the ones you find underwater. Gulliver will also begin washing up on the shore again, but this time dressed as a pirate and offering special rewards for helping him.
This summer update, which is slated to arrive July 3, is only the first, as Nintendo states more updates are on the way early August.
In other gaming news, Pokémon Unite is a team-based MOBA coming to Mobile and Nintendo Switch.
