YouTube TV Adds Big Viacom Channels to Platform
Spanning Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network and VH1.

YouTube TV will be adding big Viacom channels to its platform. After going national last year, the network has been fiercely competing against other companies like DirecTV Now, SlingTV, Hulu with Live TV and PlayStation VUE, and now, it’s become an even fiercer contender with the addition of channels like Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, CMT, Paramount Network, TV Land and VH1.
The new deal can be largely attributed to last year’s merger between Viacom and CBS, the latter of which was already partnered with YouTube TV. On top of the channels listed above, BET Her, MTV2, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick and MTV Classic will also be joining YouTube’s service later in the year, amounting to 14 new channels in total. ViacomCBS’ President of U.S. Networks Distribution Ray Hopkins made a statement about the new agreement: “We are thrilled to have reached an expanded agreement with YouTube TV that recognizes the full power of our newly combined portfolio as ViacomCBS. Google has been an excellent partner, and we look forward to bringing even more of our entertainment networks to YouTube TV subscribers for the first time.” While the new partnership with the channels meets a huge demand for the television service, how its subscription fee will be affected remains undisclosed.
