Toshio Suzuki of Studio Ghibli Teaches Viewers How to Draw Chu-Totoro
Have a go at drawing the loveable character from ‘My Neighbor Totoro.’
Fans of Japanese animation will be delighted to catch Nagoya City Board of Education’s latest video upload. The short video clip encourages those stuck at home to take a stab at drawing one of Studio Ghibli’s most iconic characters.
Joined by Toshio Suzuki of Studio Ghibli, Totoro’s lovely and maedium-sized friend from My Neighbor Totoro, Chu-Totoro (Zuku), is shown drawn by hand. Using a calligraphy brush, Suzuki walks us through the different steps including the most important detail in making the character come alive: appropriate spacing in the eyes.
