Netflix's New Workplace Comedy 'Space Force' Finds Steve Carell on a Moon Mission
From the creators of ‘The Office,’ the series co-stars John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Ben Schwartz and more.
The first trailer from Netflix‘s upcoming workplace comedy Space Force has arrived. The series comes from The Office co-creators, Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, with Carell starring as a four-star general named Mark R. Naird.
Based on President Trump’s sixth military branch of the same name, the series follows Naird, who dreams of running the Air Force but is instead assigned to run this new government segment. “Skeptical but dedicated, Mark uproots his family and moves to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colorful team of scientists and ‘Spacemen’ are tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance,” the official synopsis reads.
Although Trump is never mentioned, the trailer showcases folks openly laughing at the thought of Space Force as a concept. The show is set to star John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz, Jane Lynch, and more.
Check out the trailer above and catch Space Force when it arrives on Netflix May 29.
In other entertainment news, Nicholas Cage will play Joe Exotic in a scripted series based on Tiger King.
