Steve Carell Stars in Netflix Comedy About President Trump's Space Force
From the guys who brought you ‘The Office.’
When President Trump announced the U.S.’s new military branch, Space Force, it was ripe for comedy from everyone on social media. Now The Office alums Steve Carell and writer Greg Daniels have developed a new workplace comedy centered around the organization.
Although the Netflix comedy series has Carell set to star and executive produce, no mention of the character or plot has been stated. The announcement trailer features music from 2001: A Space Odyssey alongside large text akin to Star Wars, which reads the following:
“On June 18, 2018 the federal government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the United States armed forces. The goal of the new branch is ‘to defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks.’ Or something. This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”
Former executive producer for The Office Howard Klein will be involved as well. Check out the trailer above and sound off below with your thoughts.
In other entertainment news, a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot has surfaced.
