Lil Uzi Vert Experiments With Deepfake Technology in New "Wassup" Music Video
Starring sing-alongs by Barack Obama, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
Lil Uzi Vert and his team are making the most with their Eternal Atake and LUV vs The World 2 visual rollouts given the current limitations of the coronavirus quarantines. A number of experimental, mixed media lyric videos have resulted, but none have had the star power of Uzi’s latest “Wassup” offering featuring Future and an ensemble cast of some of the world’s most recognizable faces.
Uzi experiments with some deepfake video editing technology to get Kanye West, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, the Mona Lisa and Frida Kahlo to sing along to his hit. A number of other Zoom-inspired backdrops are utilized here too. Meanwhile, a video vixen surfs through ‘Restflix’ to find Future playing John F. Kennedy in a ‘National Pandemic’ documentary about the moon landing.
“Wassup” follows the Heaven’s Gate cult-referencing “Baby Pluto” claymation, the LONEWOLF-directed Kobe Bryant tribute titled “Bean”, and his alien abduction in the Backstreet Boys-sampling “That Way”. Uzi recently appeared on the Future’s new album High Off Life for the single “All Bad” and displayed his love for Naruto on last month’s “Sasuke” track.
