Charlize Theron Assembles Undead Mercenaries in Netflix's 'The Old Guard' Trailer
Based on the comic book of the same name by Greg Rucka.
Netflix released a new trailer for its new film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron which is based on the comic book created by Greg Rucka. The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Beyond the Lights), sees Theron in yet another action role, this time as an immoral mercenary named Andromache of Scythia.
The story follows a group of fellow undead mercenaries recruited by Andromache (Andy for short), who have protected the moral world for centuries. “But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (KiKi Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary,” reads the official synopsis.
The footage above showcases just how immortal the protagonists are as they can be seen taking on gunfire, being able to heal quickly and performing other not-so-human like actions.
Marwan Kenzari, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Luca Marinelli star as the rest of Andy’s undead army, with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Harry Melling playing those that are pursuing them.
The Old Guard will debut on Netflix on July 10.
