MIKE Drops New "Nothin 2 Say (Never Forget)" Music Video
His new project ‘Weight of the World’ releases June 21.
Brooklyn rapper MIKE has announced his next full-length project Weight of the World, set to release on June 21 via his own 10k label alongside his latest visual “Nothin 2 Say (Never Forget)”.
The song was self-produced under MIKE’s producer pseudonym DJ Blackpower with producing, directing and editing duties split between Matter Research, Reel+Fake and Patrick Newell shot on location in London. “Nothin 2 Say (Never Forget)” is based around an addicting vocal sample that finds MIKE at his lyrical best. “I know my mama sing that song so I’ll never forget/ And you still grievin’ over moms, no, I’ll never forget/ When I needed you, you gone, but you said we was friends/ This shit I’ll never forget,” he raps.
The video follows recent efforts like his “Fortune Teller” music video, a return to simpler times where he hung out with friends in a pre-coronavirus New York City tapping frequent collaborator Medhane for an appearance. MIKE also documented a recent trip to the UK with Jadesea for “Regrets”. He previously collaborated with the ongoing Adult Swim Single series to premiere “NUMBERED DAYZ” late last year.
Weight of the World will follow his critically-acclaimed 2019 effort Tears of Joy and 2018’s War in My Pen. Aligning with the Summer Solstice, June 21 seems to be a special day for the rapper as it marks exactly one year after Tears of Joy released, two years since Renaissance Man, three years after premiering God Bless Your Hustle and four since Longest Day, Shortest Night.
