Nintendo Releases Free 'Animal Crossing' Wallpapers for Video Calls
Featuring familiar characters and scenes from the video game.




After reporting that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become its fastest-selling Switch game, Nintendo is now releasing free downloadable wallpapers of popular characters and familiar scenes from the video game. With self-isolation policies still in place across the world, video chats and have become an important way to stay connected during this time. The recently released wallpapers are meant to be playful additions to any video call.
The wallpapers feature Tom Nook standing in front of the “Welcome to Deserted Island” sign, Timmy and Tommy waiting at the Nook Inc check-in desk at the airport and a scene of the Resident Services tent, which serves as the main hub for the island’s development in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo has also shared wallpapers for 12 other games, like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2, The Legend of Zelda, among others. With four patterns released with each title, a total of 52 different wallpapers are available to use.
