Nike Transforms Iconic Branding Into Manga Illustrations in New T-Shirt Collection
Featuring playful, comic-inspired designs.

Following the release of its tie-dyed sportswear capsule for Spring/Summer 2020, Nike takes a more artistic route with its Manga T-shirt collection. The apparel merges elements of manga and Japanese culture with Nike’s classic branding, creating a range of playful comic and cartooning designs that depart from Nike’s familiar branding. The muted black, gray and navy blue T-shirts are accented with the colorful designs for a streetwear-inspired take on traditional manga aesthetics.
Kicking off the collection are T-shirts printed with swoosh action bubbles emerging out of shoeboxes. Another graphic sees a figure humorously sweating as they catch sight of a fresh pair of Nike sneakers in a comic strip design, while another print features Nike’s logo accompanied by “Just Do It.” in a comic book font comprised of Ben-Day dots. Finally, two T-shirts boast an image of a Nike shoebox exploding with a basketball hoop, basketball, Air Force 1 and various action and thought bubbles.
Retailing for ¥3,000 (approx. $28 USD) each, Nike’s Manga T-shirt collection will pre-release on atmos’ website beginning April 10.
Most recently, Nike launched an online workout series that features challenges with famous ambassadors.
