NFL Enlists Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, Von Miller for 2010s All-Decade Team
Commemorating the decade’s best and most-notable players.
With the 2010s all wrapped up, the NFL and the Pro Football Hall of Fame have come together to vote on the players that represent the league’s best performances from the past decade. Thus, the 2010s All-Decade Team is a comprehensive who’s-who of expertly-assessed players, drawing from a wide array of the league’s teams.
Unsurprisingly, the Tampa-bound Tom Brady reprises his 2000s All-Decade Team nomination as the quarterback of the new All-Decade Team, accompanied by a variety of other household names who lead their teams to victory throughout the decade. These include Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, Denver’s Von Miller New England’s Rob Gronkowski and Washington’s Adrian Peterson, though there are some big names left off the list.
Drew Brees is one of the most notable exceptions from the list. However, the NFL admits that Brees’ omission is “the most glaring,” justifying the choice because his Saints’ lone Super Bowl championship came prior to the 2010s (in 2009) and they missed the playoffs four times in the ensuing decade. The team also includes two coaches: Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll, who brought various successes to the Patriots and Seattle Seahawks throughout the ’10s.
