Leon Bridges & John Mayer Link to Deliver Sensual New Single "Inside Friend"
A surprising yet impressive collaboration.
Leon Bridges and John Mayer have teamed up to deliver their first ever official collaboration, “Inside Friend.” The laidback, three-minute track hears the soul singer in a very different sonic environment, supported by jumpy drum patterns plus Mayer’s intoxicating backing vocals and sultry guitarwork.
“Inside Friend” marks Bridges’ second release this 2020, following the collaborative Texas Sun EP with Khrungabin from February 2020. Meanwhile, Mayer’s taken a brief break from releasing new material, his last solo release dating back t0 2019’s “Carry Me Away.” It’s been a while since both artists have released full-length projects, and this single will hopefully start a new album cycle for the two.
