John Mayer Dreams of a Summer Romance on "Carry Me Away"

The followup to February’s “I Guess I Just Feel Like.”

Following the release of “I Guess I Just Feel Like” last February, John Mayer has shared his followup single “Carry Me Away.” The lovesick tune sees the Grammy winner yearning for an adventurous Summer romance, utilizing simple lyricism over quiet electronic beats and calm guitars. Unlike the previous five-minute single, this followup falls short at just under three minutes and is a radio-friendly track to round up the Summer. It’s still unknown if the two singles will be part of an upcoming full-length project or EP, but Mayer noted in his iHeartRadio live show that his current category of unreleased songs are too different to fit into one cohesive album.
