Late October of last year, to the surprise of many fans, musician and fashion lover John Mayer debuted a new single during his performance at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, California. Now the lyrical swooner has officially shared his “I Guess I Just Feel Like” single after he teased its release earlier this week via social media.

The tender song, which comes in just shy of five-minutes, showcases Mayer’s signature tender tones along with his famed acoustic guitar skills played alongside a simple drum line and electric guitar. During his iHeartRadio set, Mayer told the crowd,”Thank you for listening to that new song — which is decidedly not a hit, let me just say. There’s nothing hit-like about it. But sometimes you’ve just got to tell the truth with a guitar and then you can get back to playing some hit songs.”

So far it’s unknown if “I Guess I Just Feel Like” will be a standalone single or part of an upcoming album from the singer/songwriter. Mayer’s last studio album was 2017’s The Search for Everything. In April of 2018, he released “New Light” which features production from hip-hop group No I.D. Mayer will be heading on a North American tour starting July 19 in Albany, New York.

In more music-related news, Kendrick Lamar and SZA are reportedly not performing at the 2019 Oscars.
