JPEGMAFIA continues to deliver thoughtful and candid episodic looks into his current life, teaming up with his collaborators for half-hour documentaries during and right before the coronavirus pandemic. Over the weekend, Peggy dropped off his How To Build A Relationship episode seven, teaming up with ZelooperZ, slowthai and Omar Apollo to preview new music, freestyle and talk about their respective creative processes.
JPEGMAFIA opened up 2020 with the plan to deliver new music and content to his fans on his own terms. So far, he’s premiered three new tracks: “Millennium Freestyle”, “Covered In Money” and “BALD!” while focusing on HTBAR. Previous episodes followed him overseas to lecture at Cambridge, chat with collaborator Danny Brown and reminisce on his debut episode of Kenny Beats’ The Cave YouTube series.
Here, he visits with Omar Apollo for over 10 minutes to talk about their first performances and the growing pains of being young musicians. They laughed at how long it took them to start making music they actually liked. JPEGMAFIA also revealed that he had to mix and master on his own out of financial necessity.
