After introducing its first collaboration with First Mile back in February, PUMA is now launching its second collection with the network organization using recycled fabrics. Directed at strengthening micro-economies in Haiti, Honduras, and Taiwan by collecting plastic bottles to create sustainable jobs, First Mile turns plastic waste into recycled polyester that PUMA uses for its footwear and apparel. This time, the 12-piece collection is comprised of at least 83% to even 100% of First Mile’s recycled yarn.

Men and women’s performance footwear, apparel and accessories are rooted in earth tones, while vibrant accents and an exclusive camouflage pattern unite the range. Highlights of the collection are new iterations of PUMA’s signature LQD CELL sneaker. The men’s Hydra Camo silhouette arrives in an olive green, black and pink colorway, as well as in “Tapioca White” with light blue accents. In contrast, the women’s bulkier Shatter Camo sneaker arrives in black with bright pink detailing and white with a chunky pink and green midsole.

The performance apparel follows the color scheme of the men and women’s sneakers. Running jackets, shirts and training tees for men are covered in dark camo prints, while training tanks, woven shorts and leggings for women come in a lighter color palette with subtle patterning. “Our strategy is centered on continuously looking for more sustainable alternatives for our key materials and creating maximum positive impact, living up to our code of being Forever Better,” says Stefan Seidel, Head of Sustainability for PUMA.

Shop the First Mile x PUMA collection on PUMA’s website and select retailers worldwide beginning this Earth Day, April 22.

In other news, New Balance has dropped its popular 850 in three ’90s-inspired colorways.
