Isaiah Rashad Melts Away Stress on New Single "Why Worry"
The TDE artist’s first single in four years.
Chattanooga-originating Top Dawg Entertainment member Isaiah Rashad has shared his first solo single in four years, “Why Worry.” Part of the ongoing TDE Fan Appreciation Week, which began Sunday with Ab-Soul’s “Dangerookipawa Freestyle” and continued on Monday with Zacari’s “Edamame” and “This Woman’s Work” feat. Che Ecru, Rashad’s latest single arrives during heightened speculation surrounding his third studio album, The House Is Burning. The project, which is expected to release later this year, follows 2016’s critically-acclaimed full-length, The Sun’s Tirade.
Produced by Toronto-based beatsmith Crooklin, the relaxed instrumental utilized in “Why Worry” lays down a perfect bedrock, with a warped vocal sample setting the stage for Rashad to usher out tranquilizing poetics. On the track, he raps about letting go of the stress brought on by fame and family: “What about our friendship, what about our kinship?/Put it up like uncles, chuck it out my window/Worry about my Ms and my new utensils.”
