White-Hot Nike Air Max 97 Releases With Flame Graphic on Lateral Side

Nike‘s beloved Air Max 97 already offers sweltering style with its sleek bullet train-inspired design lines, but the Swoosh’s Sportswear subdivision is cranking the flames up a touch with a scalding “White/Ice Blue” colorway. Although this crisp 97 may appear simple at first glance, closer inspection reveals several standout details simmering away in its mostly monochromatic folds.
A trifecta of materials — mesh, textile and tumbled leather — are mixed on the upper. Mesh serves as a base layer, while textiles are tended to on the top and middle overlays and leather lays itself across the mudguard. This crisp construction surrounds a duo of dashing tonal accents: a small flame graphic on the cut-out quarter and a mini Swoosh on the forefoot. Moving down, a white foam midsole encases a full foot light gray Air Max cushioning unit.
Fire meets ice on the outsole, which uses a chilly translucent blue rubber and equips a familiar flame graphic on its jeweled badge. If you peer into the insoles, you’ll find a large Swoosh, dressed in blue as well to match the outsole and complete the look.
The Nike Air Max 97 “White/Ice Blue” retails for $170 USD and is available now at Nike’s webstore and retailers like BILLY’s Tokyo.
