'Connected' Trailer Teases 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' Creators' New Film
An animated comedy about family, technology and the robot apocalypse.
Sony Pictures Animation and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller released a new trailer for its upcoming animated feature Connected. The film uses comparable art style to the famed Marvel film and also stars Danny McBride as father Rick Mitchell, attempting to take his daughter Katie (Abbi Jacobson) to college via a road trip with little to no technology as possible.
Although Katie is going to college to study digital film, her father sees that his daughter’s constant reliance on technology has staled their relationship. The “electronic-less” road trip is a way for them to bond again without the interference of any cell phones or computers. However, as the journey continues, it appears that robots are attempting to take over the world in a surreal tech apocalypse. Connected is co-directed by former Gravity Falls writers Mike Rianda and Jeff Rowe. It also stars Eric Andre, Maya Rudolph, and Olivia Colman.
Connected hits theaters September 18.

They say don’t meet your heroes- they’re wrong. Meet them, con them into producing your animated movie and get them to help you make it 5 times better. THAT’S the move. Thanks @chrizmillr and @philiplord for holding us to the highest standard, and never letting us down. https://t.co/bH3X8V6YVI
