Adam Lister Unveils New Geometric Paintings for First European Exhibition

Titled “Essential Lucidity.”

New York-based artist Adam Lister will soon launch his first-ever solo exhibition in Europe. Titled “Essential Lucidity” the presentation will take place at Ho Gallery in Vienna, Austria with the artist unveiling a total of 20 new geometric paintings. Highlights from the body of work include 8-bit-style portraits of NBA icons including the late Kobe Bryant, rap legends such as LL Cool J, and other key figures in pop culture.

Lister is widely-celebrated for his minimalist paintings that feature pixelated visuals made using watercolor and acrylic paintings. Throughout his practice, the artist examines the connections between mathematics and nostalgia, memorializing familiar subjects in Cubist-eque compositions with a contemporary twist.

View select works to go on display at Ho Gallery. “Essential Lucidity” will be on show starting March 4. Visit Adam Lister’s website for more projects.
