Lil Uzi Vert Gets Abducted By a UFO Cult in 'Eternal Atake' Album Trailer
The wait is almost over.
It’s been nearly a year since Lil Uzi Vert began teasing Eternal Atake. After a slew of purported delays and label disputes, Uzi began dropping off “That’s A Rack,” “Sanguine Paradise,” “Futsal Shuffle 2020,” and just earlier this week a flip of Backstreet Boys with “That Way,” Uzi has now shared a cinematic trailer for the upcoming project.
Directed by Gibson Hazard, Uzi can be seen working a normative nine-to-five in a cubicle, suddenly disrupted by some Illuminati-esque coordinates that mysteriously appear. This leads the Philly native on a rather outlandish adventure, with the rapper eventually being abducted by cult members flying around in a UFO. This follows in line with the album’s title and idealistic underpinnings, which references the Heaven’s Gate cult, a religious group that associate professor of religion Benjamin E. Zeller notes as “focused on transcending humanity and the Earth, and seeking salvation in the literal heavens on board a UFO.”
You can watch the trailer for Eternal Atake above. The album — as shared by Uzi on Instagram Live — is expected to drop within two weeks.
