ShooterGang Kony Unveils GTA-Inspired Visuals for "Bussdown"
Featuring Nef The Pharaoh & Teejay3k.
Following last week’s release of his 14-track Red Paint Reverand project, ShooterGang Kony is back with a new music video for the track “Bussdown,” the fifth song off the LP. Featuring Nef The Pharaoh and Teejay3k, the Californian rapper is seen mobbing out with his crew in his Sacramento neighborhood amidst rich GTA-inspired edits.
Clocking in at a little over three minutes and a half, “Bussdown” is laced with a catchy piano riff, layered over blaring 808s, tinny percussions and smooth basslines. ShooterGang Kony comes through with a unique flow, penning lyrics like “I’m Kony Korver with this weapon, who you playin’ with? / Bust down my neck, so you can’t see me when I take a pic” and “What I’m doin’? Grippin’ tools, you try, I’ll see you on the news / I play it bool ’cause I’m a Blood but I’ma give that boy the blues (Woop).” To complement the content of the song, the video sees comical moments of Kony and his friends performing various GTA-familiar actions — like taking someone’s car, getting a haircut or shooting down a helicopter with a bazooka — coupled with graphics that mimic prompts from the game. Completing the song, features like TeeJay3k’s catchy hook or Nef The Pharaoh’s verse after the third chorus fill the track with a dynamic range of personality.
