Latto Drops Big Mama

For her final opus, Latto has lifted the veil on Big Mama. Marking her fourth studio album, the 17-track project is reportedly her last, arriving a little over a year after Sugar Honey Iced Tea. 

It’s Official: Syd Is Returning

This is not a drill. Syd is plotting her first new album in over four years. Beard is confirmed to drop on July 17, a project The Internet musician describes as “a coming of age album.” “It’s a snapshot of what my life looks like right now,” she continued. “The title was inspired by the peach fuzz on my upper lip that society has always taught me to hate. I fell in love with my peach fuzz and it made me rethink everything that was supposed to make me feel insecure. It allowed me to take my confidence into my own hands, and own everything that I am and everything I love about myself, regardless of what anyone else thinks. The title also represents the way I see myself in relation to my peers, especially in music. ‘The bearded lady.’ Not so much a spectacle in my case, but an anomaly and an outlier. Hard to compare. I’m owning that too. Taking things that were once insecurities and flipping them on their head has been extremely empowering.”

Yes, you’re reading that right. Lil Uzi Vert has a pet monkey – her name is Piccola – and she now has her own Instagram page. The Instagram is more than just a place for photo dumps (though she already has posted a pretty good one, captioned “Early Studio sesh”); rather, it seems to be the main vessel Uzi plans to use to roll out his next longform studio project. Uzi – sorry, Piccola – has shared a minute-long video of her and Uzi, but no music has materialized quite yet.

Quadeca Drops New Single

Officially kicking off his new album rollout is rising under-the-radar artist, Quadeca. After appearing on Kevin Abstract’s Blush and Danny Brown’s Stardust during the same timeframe he released his impressive new LP, Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, Quadeca is seemingly another new longform project. The first track? A single entitled “Dark Magic” – out now.

Drake Surpasses Michael Jackson for Most No. 1 Singles by a Male Solo Artist

The Boy has made history. On the heels of his ICEMAN/HABIBTI/MAID OF HONOUR trifecta, Drake has official broken the world record for most No. 1 singles by a male solo artist, beating out the record held by Michael Jackson. “Neck broke from carrying the chain. Latto Reveals Star-Studded Slate of Featured Artists

Big Mama’s getting ready to return – or retire, that is. With Latto‘s Big Mama’s release confirmed for the end of this week, the rapper took to Instagram to artistically roll out the official docket of featured contributors set to assist on the album. Artists showing out on the lineup include 21 Savage, Mariah the Scientist, WizKid, Teyana Taylor, Odeal and Jelly Roll.
