4AD’s latest drop is for the football lover in your life. Ahead of the World Cup, the label teamed up with New York-based Full Kit for a limited-edition three-piece capsule, bringing its beloved Cocteau Twins, Scott Walker and Air Miami to the stands.
Football culture meets indie favorites in the “Complicated Opposition”collection. Leading the lineup is the Heaven or Las Vegas Scotland Jersey. For Scotland’s long-awaited return to the World Cup stage, the piece blends classic football detailing with the dreamy feel of the landmark Cocteau Twins album, featuring tartan patterning and a woven “Lily Dancer” crest.
Meanwhile, the Scott Walker Bish Bosch USA Jersey rallies stateside, reworking soccer aesthetics with the stark, graphic maximalism of the late artist’s final era. Rounding out the release is the Colourbox x Air Miami Scarf inspired by the duo’s titular double A-side single. With cues from Air Miami’s “World Cup Fever” and Colourbox’s “The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme,” the scarf taps into the beautiful chaos of fan culture with artwork by Chris Bigg and The Douglas Brothers.
As part of the campaign, a portion of proceeds will be pledged to War Child. The 4AD x Full Kit “Complicated Opposition” World Cup collection is now available for pre-order through June 8 via the label’s official webstore and Bandcamp.
