New Era Japan Adorns Caps With Vincent van Gogh & Claude Monet Paintings
‘Sunflowers,’ ‘Starry Night’ and ‘Water Lilies’ take over.
New Era Japan has launched a cap collection centered around iconic paintings by seminal artists Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, highlighting some of the most famous impressionist and post-impressionist paintings in art history on the brand’s classic cap silhouettes. Each 59FIFTY, 39THIRTY or Jet cap features an all-over print or patch of the artists’ paintings on the front and van Gogh or Monet’s signature embroidered on the rear.
Highlights of the collection include a black 59FIFTY cap featuring van Gogh’s 1888 Sunflower painting on a patch, along with a Jet cap informed by an all-over print of the artist’s Starry Night in deep blue hues. Elsewhere, Claude Monet’s striking Water Lilies cover an entire hat, showcasing the flowers from morning until evening, while his 1857 painting of his wife in a Japanese kimono emblazons a portion of a cap. Other featured works include van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Wheatfield with Crows, along with different variations of Monet’s water lilies.
