Nepenthes' New Editorial is a Hazy Afternoon "DAYDREAM"
Featuring Needles, Engineered Garments, AïE and more.

Last month, Nepenthes delivered its psychedelic editorial “Liquid Anthem,” featuring Tokyo-based rock quartet Gezan. It showcased a bevy of grunge-inspired layers and clashing patterns behind a colorfully lucid backdrop. The Japanese label is back with a brand new edit, this time opting for more stripped-back visuals that highlight a range of SS20 goods from brands like Needles, Engineered Garments, AïE and more.
Dubbed “DAYDREAM,” the editorial captures an array of loose midweight layers against a sunny golden-hour haze. Set amidst sequestered alleyways and empty streets are a series of vivid styles like tribal-patterned button-up shirts, paint-splatter coach jackets, corduroy blazers, cream-colored track pants and silk slacks. Noteworthy pieces like Needles’ paint-splatter Ghille Sneakers and embroidered velour slides are matched with loose trousers and clean-cut shirts. Other highlights like the dark gold kimono robe and fringed leather track jacket demonstrate contemporary takes on vintage ’70s designs, while pieces like wool blazers and crisp turtleneck long-sleeves give the assemblage a touch of sartorial refinement.

In case you missed it, NEEDLES and Lee have updated a classic 1970 jean jacket and flared denim.
