Griselda Joins Charlie Sloth for "Fire in the Booth, Pt. 1" Freestyle
Benny the Butcher and Conway the Machine are at their lyrical best.
Griselda Records joined DJ Charlie Sloth for the latest “Fire in the Booth” on Beats 1 Radio episode that saw the Buffalo rap crew flex their vocal chops over in-house producer Daringer‘s gritty-as-ever production. Griselda is currently running a victory lap after their first official collaborative LP in WWCD released under Shady Records late last year.
Benny The Butcher opened up the six minute session, re-imaging his verse from “Jackpot” off of his sixth mixtape A Friend of Ours from 2018 with a few additional bars for good measure. While Westside Gunn sat this round out, he did offer his support at the beginning of the track, letting listeners know that his vision for his label mates is finally coming together and to look out for 2020. Conway The Machine was at his best, detailing his lack of surprise that Tekashi 6ix9ine testified and even sneaking in Kawhi Leonoard and Zion Williamson references:
“Uh, I took a loss, but now I’m back buyin’ raw/ Sell it for the Shaq, but I get it for the Bryan Shaw/ Lettin’ off this MAC, got you n*ggas tryna climb a wall/ I put the pressure on your shooters like Kawhi the Claw/ And every verse, I’m applying more/ Heard 6ix9ine testified, I ain’t surprised at all/ We do the walk-ups, my n*gga, we ain’t drivin’ by/ I brought Flee with me, and he been dyin’ to slide/ My n*gga did twelve years for lettin’ iron fly/ Left when he was 16, he came home Zion-sized,” Conway raps.
