New York’s Dashiel Brahmann continues refining his distinctive menswear ethos for Fall/Winter 2020, harnessing the the city’s finest tailors to repurpose traditional silhouettes with a playful surfer edge. Unconventional proportions contrast against the delicate, thoughtful craft, assuaging any fears of stodginess with progressive cuts.

Graphic T-shirts (courtesy of Daytime Novella) draw the eye to the quiet blazers, chore jackets and cropped trousers that inform the range, with the muted palette granting Brahmann freedom to experiment with drape and shape. Lengthy shirts, occasionally emboldened by vintage buttons and hand-stitched accents, are worn over trim ribbed turtlenecks and elastic-waisted trousers, with more casual hoodies ensuring the proceedings stray from formality. This unserious air grants approachability to the chalkstripe suits and their denim counterparts, making for dressy garments that refute the stiffness of typical tailored dress.

Expect the FW20 offering to hit Dashiel Brahmann’s web store and Browns’ site later this year.

Elsewhere in New York, Aimé Leon Dore delivered a trim selection of refined SS20 silhouettes.
