Kodak Black Drops Rich New Visuals for "Because of You"
Filmed before his incarceration.
Kodak Black has unveiled new visuals for the track “Because of You.” While the Florida rapper is currently serving his three-year prison sentence, he did save some extra content: the music video was shot just before his incarceration and will likely be one of the last visuals he’ll be releasing before his release in 2022.
Measuring at approximately two-minutes and a half, the song is steeped in a slow nocturnal groove, driven by lush echoing synths and crisp drums as Kodak delivers smooth vocals. The accompanying video follows the rapper with a girl, whose face we don’t get to see, and a crew of him and his friends living it up at lavish Miami clubs and estates. Notable quotes in the song include lyrics like “All because of you, I’ma be a better man / Now I wanna do, things I ain’t never did” or “I think about you on this flight right now / I’m tryna figure out what’s the distance,” offering a glimpse at Kodak’s possible love interest who he released the visuals for on Valentines Day.
