Todd Snyder and New Balance Present Stately 997 "Triborough" Collection
Three crisp made in the USA colorways that swap out the 997’s standard midfoot branding for an OG “Flying NB” hit.

Todd Snyder has worked with New Balance on a wide array of collaborative silhouettes, but the New York-based menswear brand seems to have a special fondness for the New Balance 997. Over the duo’s collaborative relationship they’ve produced pairs inspired by everything from ’70s tennis stars to upstate New York and Pride month, but their new 997 “Triborough” sneaker keeps its inspiration a little closer to home, reimagining ’90s style for the “modern gentleman.”
Snyder’s made in the USA 997s have been presented in three colors: an elegant navy, a rich burgundy and an understated gray. All feature tan detailing above the toebox, on the tongue and around the collar — plus a special tan “Flying NB” hit on the quarter in place of the standard large N logo. This rare archival logo graced the Steven Smith-designed sneaker upon its original release in 1990 but was replaced by the aforementioned N shortly thereafter, making it a cult classic piece of New Balance history. White ENCAP midsoles and black rubber outsoles round off each look.
“The 997 is one of my favorite New Balance silhouettes and I wanted to create something low-profile, yet eye-catching,” said Snyder. “We decided to feature the Flying NB logo as an ode to the humble beginnings of the shoe. It really was the first of its kind.”
The Todd Snyder x New Balance 997 “Triborough” collection will release via the Todd Snyder webstore on December 22. The MSRP is set at $230 USD per pair.
