This forthcoming year is a fresh start for Russell Westbrook as he now finds himself as one of the newest roster members of the Washington Wizards, and with the NBA regular season set to get underway shortly, he’s going to have a new pair of kicks to rock on the floor: the Jordan Why Not Zer0.4. The Jordan Brand team officially revealed Brodie’s newest signature shoe and its accompanying apparel in a few colorways, one being a collaboration with Japanese fashion label Facetasm.

Its design isn’t at all that unfamiliar from what we’ve seen from the former MVP and the Jumpman team cook up in the past, but there’s a handful of nuances that allow this new model to stand on its own. Its mid-profile height, synthetic uppers, exposed stitchings and collection of angular overlays are kept consistent, but you’ll notice that the mid-foot strap from the Why Not Zer0.3 has been traded out for a double-webbed lacing system, and the jagged-edged midsole molds have been hacked down to a less aggressive shape. Underneath, the cushioning layer is now supported by a double stacked Zoom unit, and that treading patterns have been modified to work like tire spires for premium grip to the hardwood.

Revealed from the Nike News gallery are a few inline colorways including the “Upbringing” which is inspired by Westbrook’s upbringing in LA and drops on January 6, the “Family” colorway which launches on January 14 and the “Trust & Loyalty” rendition that hits stores on February 25, in addition to the Facetasm collaboration which is expected to release on January 27.

You can catch a closer look at the collection and find more information behind the shoes/apparel design ethos here, and expect the products to drop via Nike and select retailers.

Elsewhere in footwear news, the TITAN Air Jordan 23 and Air Jordan 35 collection has received an official launch date.
