Mac DeMarco Drops Tender Cover of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"
Spreading holiday cheer in front of a giant inflatable Santa Clause.
Mac DeMarco is continuing his annual tradition of holiday covers, this year covering Judy Garland’s 1944 classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
The accompanying music video shows the Canadian crooner sporting a red fleece jacket, cap and moustache, performing next to a gigantic inflatable Santa Claus by the mountains. He takes out his guitar to play the solo, and ends the visual with a slow zoom in of Santa’s face and DeMarco posing in front of the inflatable character.
DeMarco has had a relatively quiet year, with his last full-length release dating back to May 2019’s Here Comes the Cowboy. He did, however, use 2020 to release his latest album’s demos across a span of two projects, collaborate with the likes of Yellow Days and Benny Sings and drop a one-off single “Fooled by Love.”

Elsewhere in music, slowthai celebrated his 26th birthday with the single “Thoughts.”
