slowthai Shares His "Thoughts" on New Track
Released in celebration of the rapper’s 26th birthday.
slowthai has dropped off a brand new track entitled “Thoughts.”
Produced by JD. Reid, the cut clocks in at almost three minutes and is released in celebration of the Northampton rapper’s 26th birthday. “Thoughts” almost serves as word vomit from slowthai as he touches on anything and everything, including his life as a biracial person, drugs and turning his life around with music. There’s also a glimmer of hope in his bars as he raps, “I been to hell and back, came back on track / Couldn’t out my flame, I done told you that / Rub dirt on my name like it won’t come back / I got no one to blame, so I gotta come back.”
To confirm, “Thoughts” will not be part of his upcoming album TYRON, which is set to drop February 5, 2021. In a lengthy statement, slowthai revealed that his sophomore effort was “created during a difficult time in my life.” He continued, “[I] hope this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone. [I]t’s okay to be yourself, f*ck everything else. [L]earn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”
