The Mysterious Utah Desert Monolith Has Vanished
Removed “by an unknown party.”
The mysterious monolith discovered in the Utah desert last week has strangely vanished. Taking the internet by the storm, the object became a viral sensation over the course of the last few days, baffling government officials and onlookers on what exactly the damn thing was and how it got there.
Utah’s Bureau of Land Management noted that the monolith had been removed “by an unknown party.” Ryan Bacher, a helicopter pilot who was the last to see the object on Friday afternoon, reported to Utah’s local TV station that the monolith was missing after his friend flew by the site the next day. “Twenty-four hours later, my close friend, who is also a helicopter pilot, flew his family down to see as well and found it taken down,” said Bacher. The Bureau of Land Management emphasized that the object “is considered private property” and that it did not remove the monolith from the site. So far, no one has yet to report the structure’s whereabouts as well as its origins.
In case you missed it, here’s a look at Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 trailer, streaming now on Netflix.
The “monolith” obelisk met a swift fate before we arrived. Only the triangular top remained as well as parts of the below-ground base. If I ventured a guess, it was probably dismantled by someone determined to prevent careless curiosity that tends to ruin alluring sites. pic.twitter.com/kXP5KypmlS
