Benny The Butcher Reflects on His Celebrity in "Famous" Music Video
Taken from the Griselda titan’s Hit-Boy-produced album, ‘Burden Of Proof.’
Benny The Butcher has shared a music video for “Famous,” a cut from his latest full-length release Burden Of Proof.
Directed by The Wizard, the accompanying visual sees the Griselda staple celebrating at the launch party of his latest album. He’s surrounded by family, friends and, of course, the media, but all the glitz and glamor of his success still doesn’t make him feel like he’s a celebrity. “Three Rollies, two cribs, six figures / And I still don’t feel famous,” he raps, even begging the question, “What’s fame to a n***a like me? You gotta think / Cause I’m from the cocaine era, we extinct.”
The visual arrives shortly after Benny The Butcher suffered a gunshot wound during an attempted robbery in Houston, Texas. Reports state that the rapper was waiting inside car at a local Walmart parking lot when another vehicle with five people pulled up next to them and demanded for their chains at gunpoint. Westside Gunn shared a much-needed update with fans a few days later, confirming that his cousin was back home and is recovering well.
