Fox has officially announced the broadcast premiere date for its forthcoming Baywatch reboot, locking in the drama for January 6 at 9 p.m. The continuation revives the iconic 1990s television franchise with a 12-episode order for the network’s 2026–2027 broadcast slate.
Co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle, the revival stars Stephen Amell as an adult Hobie Buchannon, who has grown from the wild child of the 1989 original into a full-fledged Baywatch Captain following his father Mitch’s footsteps. Hobie’s routine is upended by the sudden arrival of Charlie, played by Jessica Belkin, a daughter he never knew existed who is determined to become a lifeguard alongside him.
Shot in Los Angeles following an open casting call in early 2026, the production features an ensemble roster that includes Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, Hassie Harrison, Livvy Dunne, Noah Beck, David Chokachi, and Thaddeus LaGrone, alongside an appearance by Megan Thee Stallion. Recurring cast members include Ashley Moore, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Kylar Miranda, and Charlie McElveen. Showrunner Matt Nix serves as executive producer alongside Dante Di Loreto, Mike Horowitz, and original creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, and Doug Schwartz, with McG directing the premiere episode.
