Pap Chanel Connects With Future and Herion Young for New Single "Gucci Bucket Hat"
Following the rising Georgia emcee’s recent ‘Pretty & Paid’ project.
Rising Milledgeville, Georgia rapper, singer and songwriter Jaida Chanel Roby, better known as Pap Chanel garnered some buzz for her last single “2 Way Street” featuring Blac Youngsta. Now she’s returned with her new track “Gucci Bucket Hat” featuring Future and Freebandz signee Herion Young. The song was first previewed back in early August with Future rapping alongside the record in the studio while wearing a Goyard bucket hat. The clip quickly went viral for the rappers’ contrasting choice of headwear.
The Pap in the rising rapper’s name stands for (P)retty (A)nd (P)aid and mirrors her mantra featured throughout her new project Pretty & Paid. She’s attributed some of her early influences to Nicki Minaj and Foxy Brown. On “Gucci Bucket Hat,” Pap holds her own alongside one of hip-hop’s biggest names. Future’s chorus is dripped in autotune and dedicated to his past money making habits: “Gucci bucket hat, Gucci bucket hat/ Serving fentanyl, I ain’t going back,” he raps. Meanwhile, Pap’s verse oozes pop culture references: “‘Cause I hate ballers that fiendin’ like Felicia/ These h*es don’t want no beef, if they eat salad, it’s a Caesar/ These b*tches problem in my eyes, I pick ‘em with some tweezers/ Now tell me who belong to the streets?/ Like Romeo, they tryna master the P.”
