New Balance's Retro-Tinged X-Racer Arrives in "Black/Silver"
The updated dad runner also sports a host of red accents.

New Balance‘s recently-released X-Racer silhouette has been given a “Black/Silver” rework for the New Year. The silhouette is heavily inspired by the imprint’s runner heritage, implementing various components taken from the 1990s and early ’00s sneakers.
For this all-new rendition, New Balance combines a base made of black mesh with overlaying panels of metallic silver faux leather and red welt branding. Together, the colorway is as retro-inspired as the shoe itself, reworking the M1200, RC205 and M1000-inspired panels with a technical, sporty aesthetic that is continued via the sneaker’s capabilities — achieved via the ABZORB sole unit that enhances cushioning.
Rounding out the X-Racer is red and black tread taken from the 1400 model, large rear rubberized “NB” branding, further branding all the way along the tongue and a set of black laces accented with red trims. Take a look at the New Balance X-Racer in “Black/Silver” in the gallery above, and pick up a pair now via stockists such as SSENSE for $90 USD.
Elsewhere in the sneaker world, rumor has it that Prada and adidas could be releasing three new Superstars.
